Grassroots Ministry is a people, family, and community organization led by the holy spirit headquartered in Maui, Hawaii. Cultivating Hawaiian culture, Grassroots Ministry favors a traditional Kua’aina (back-country) model including farming, hunting, hale building, net making, paniolo heritage, fishing, and art — uniting kanakas to place and each other; fostering physical, spiritual and emotional health while simultaneously providing unlimited opportunity, and imperishable sustainability. Educating ‘ai kapu (food protocol), hu’a kapu (off-limits locations), plant science, ocean marine, traditional navigation (including boat/canoe creations), ocean agriculture economics and agriculture engineering. The Grassroots Ministry acts in accordance with divine or moral law, free from sin or guilt, striving for lokahi across all islands to become one united front.

God’s law gives direction, wisdom, and joy to our lives.

In the simplest of terms, the Law is the sum total of God’s requirements and expectations for man’s behavior, words, and attitude, and to turn aside from them or rebel against them is sin. So in the final analysis, God’s law is that we should put God first in our lives. He wants us to function under Him as loving, obedient sons and daughters.

Kua’aina values connect people to place and each other; fostering physical, spiritual, environmental and emotional health, while simultaneously providing economic opportunities, and a model of sustainability.
